Required Language for Fundraising Solicitations

Last modified: May 7, 2023
You are here:

Projects sponsored by Compass Charitable Partners are responsible for raising all of their own financial support.  Compass does not assist in fundraising activities for projects.  Donors to a project sponsored by Compass are giving to a 501(c)(3) public charity, assuming they route their donations through Compass.  Therefore, such gifts are generally tax-deductible to the donor.

Compass recommends projects include the following language in its written solicitations to prospective donors:

“(Project Name) is a charitable project under the fiscal sponsorship of Compass Charitable Partners, a 501(c)(3) organization located in Nashville, Tennessee.  All donations made via credit/debit card or check directly to Compass Charitable Partners, designated to (Project Name), will receive full tax-deductibility to the extent allowable under federal law.”
