Our Model

Last modified: July 31, 2022

Fiscal sponsors operate under a variety of model types.  For some, their structure and policies are such that there is little legal separation between the sponsoring charity and the projects being managed.  These usually fall under the Models A or B structure.  Others provide much more autonomy and independence between the two entities.  This is commonly known as a Model C fiscal sponsorship, or a grantor-grantee relationship.

Compass Charitable Partners exclusively operates under a Model C structure.  Each sponsored project is an independent entity, with its own tax ID number.  While we provide fiscal and operational oversight, the project and its Manager(s) are solely accountable for their own activities.
